what is AC contractor in fuel dispenser used for and how it is working?
AC contactor is mainly used for frequent poweringon/off of alternating current/direct current circuits, and it may be used to control
the capacity and implement remote operation. With aid of relays, AC contactor may implement fixed cycle operation, interconnected
control, different kinds of quantitative control and voltage loss and undervoltage protection. It is extensively applied in automatic
control circuits, and its control object usually refers to motors.
Working principle of AC contactor: When coil is powered on, static iron core generates an electromagnetic suction force and pick up
the moving iron core. The contactor system is linked to the moving iron core. Therefore, the moving iron core may drive 3 movable
contact springs to run simultaneously; when the contact is closed, and power supply is turned on. When the coil is powered off, the
suction force disappears, the linked part of moving iron core is released due to the spring counterforce, such that the main contactor
is disconnected, and the power supply is cut off. The AC contactor inside fuel dispenser utilizes the power-on/off of control coil of the control board to implement contact ON/OFF, to control the operation of motor.
